Aesop’s Fable: The Tortoise and the Hare

Once upon a time, there was a race between a slow-moving tortoise and a swift hare. The tortoise, though slow, was determined to win, while the hare, confident in his speed, thought the race would be a breeze.

The race began, and the hare took off at a full sprint, leaving the tortoise far behind. The hare, feeling relaxed, decided to take a nap under a tree, assuming he would wake up to find the tortoise still struggling to catch up.

Meanwhile, the tortoise, though he moved at a snail’s pace, never gave up. He continued to crawl steadily towards the finish line.

When the hare woke up from his nap, he was surprised to see the tortoise so close to the finish line. In a panic, he raced to the end of the track, but it was too late. The tortoise had already won the race.

The moral of the story is: “Slow and steady wins the race.”
