Aesop’s Fable: The Tortoise and the Hare

Tortoise: (slowly) Well, well, if it isn’t the swift Hare. What brings you here?

Hare: (proudly) Oh, Tortoise, I’m off to the race. I’m the fastest creature in the forest, and I’m sure to win.

Tortoise: (smiling) Fastest, you say? I must give you my best wishes. But remember, slow and steady wins the race.

Hare: (laughing) Slow and steady? Ha! I’ll show you slow and steady! (He dashes off into the distance.)

Tortoise: (starting off at a leisurely pace) I’ll take my time, but I’ll get there in the end.

Hare: (after a while) Phew, that was quite a sprint! I think I’ll take a nap under this tree. I’ll be ready to win when the race starts.

Tortoise: (continuing his slow journey) That’s a good idea, Hare. I think I’ll do the same.

Hare: (falling asleep) Zzzz…

Tortoise: (finally reaching the finish line) And there I am, first place! Slow and steady wins the race, as I’ve always said.

Hare: (waking up and seeing the Tortoise) Oh no! How could this be? I was so sure I would win!

Tortoise: (smiling) Remember, Hare, pride goes before a fall. And sometimes, the most unlikely winners surprise everyone.

Hare: (sighing) You’re right, Tortoise. I’ll have to work harder and be more careful next time. Thanks for the lesson.

Tortoise: (gently) Anytime, Hare. And remember, it’s not just about speed, but also about determination and patience.
