Once upon a time, in a little village by the lake, there lived a mother duck and her many ducklings. Among them was one that was different. This little duckling was much smaller and paler than the others, and it didn’t swim as well as they did.
Once, the mother duck took her ducklings to the lake to swim. The other ducklings splashed around happily, but the little duckling felt awkward and out of place. It tried to swim, but its webbed feet didn’t seem to work as well as they should.
The other ducklings laughed at the little duckling, calling it “Ugly Duckling.” The little duckling felt sad and lonely. It thought it was ugly and not good enough.
As the ducklings grew up, the little duckling continued to feel different. It didn’t have the bright colors of the other ducks, and it seemed to be clumsy and slow. The other ducks would peck at it and make fun of it.
One day, the little duckling decided it had had enough. It left the village and wandered off into the forest. It was cold and hungry, and it didn’t know where to go. It met many animals, but none seemed to understand or care about it.
After a long time, the little duckling found itself in a beautiful meadow. There, it saw a magnificent swan gliding gracefully over the water. The little duckling was amazed and thought to itself, “I have never seen such a beautiful creature.”
The swan noticed the little duckling and came closer. It saw that the little duckling was sad and lonely. The swan spoke to the little duckling and said, “You are not ugly at all. You are a swan!”
The little duckling couldn’t believe its ears. It had never thought of itself as a swan. But as it grew, it began to change. Its feathers turned into the most beautiful white, and it grew a long, graceful neck.
The other birds in the meadow saw the little duckling and were amazed. They had never seen such a beautiful creature before. They called it “The Swan” and admired it.
From that day on, the little duckling was no longer lonely or sad. It had found its true identity and was accepted by all. And so, the Ugly Duckling became the most beautiful swan in the entire kingdom.
