Once upon a time, in a small town not far from the sea, there was a fisherman named Mr. Snapper. Mr. Snapper was known for his quirky sense of humor and his love for telling tall tales.

One sunny morning, Mr. Snapper decided to take his boat out to sea to catch some fish. As he was rowing out, he noticed a group of seagulls flying overhead. Feeling particularly chatty that day, he decided to have a little fun with them.

“Hello, my feathered friends!” he called out. “Do you know where the best fish are biting today?”

The seagulls squawked back, “We don’t know, but we heard there’s a big one swimming near the lighthouse!”

Mr. Snapper chuckled. “Ah, the lighthouse? That’s where I always catch the biggest fish. I just have to sing a special song to them!”

The seagulls looked at each other, puzzled. “You sing to fish? How does that work?”

Mr. Snapper grinned. “Well, it’s a secret, but I can tell you this: my song goes like this, ‘Fishy, fishy, come to me, in the lighthouse, you’ll see me, with my rod, I’ll catch you, and you’ll be free!’”

The seagulls erupted in laughter, and one of them dared to ask, “So, does it really work?”

Mr. Snapper nodded confidently. “Every time! Last week, I sang that song, and a great big tuna came right up to my boat. I caught it with one swipe of my net!”

The seagulls were skeptical but amused. “We’ll believe it when we see it, Mr. Snapper!”

Determined to prove his tale, Mr. Snapper turned his boat towards the lighthouse. As he approached, he began to sing his special fish song at the top of his lungs.

To the amazement of the seagulls, a large fish did indeed appear near the lighthouse. But it wasn’t a tuna; it was a seagull that had decided to swim underwater for a change!

The seagull swam right up to Mr. Snapper’s boat and gave him a beady-eyed look. “Well, Mr. Snapper, what do you think of that?”

Mr. Snapper, realizing his joke had backfired, laughed along with the seagulls. “I guess the fish are a bit smarter than I thought, but I’ll keep trying to catch the biggest one yet!”

And so, Mr. Snapper continued his day of fishing, with a new tale to tell and a newfound respect for the cleverness of his feathered friends.
