After a while, a man approached them and said, “I saw a dog like Max near the lake.” The police officer and Lily ran to the lake immediately.
When they got there, they saw Max sitting by the lake, looking very tired. Lily was so happy to see Max that she ran to him and hugged him tightly.
Max wagged his tail happily and seemed to understand that Lily had found him. The police officer thanked the man who had seen Max and they all went back to Lily’s house.
From that day on, Lily was more careful when she played with Max. She always made sure to keep an eye on him.
