Here’s a simple Chinese story adapted into English for young students:
The Brave Little Monkey
Once upon a time, in a lush, green forest, there lived a brave little monkey named Mimi. Mimi was known for her quick wit and adventurous spirit. One sunny morning, she heard a loud cry for help coming from the other side of the forest.
Curious and determined to help, Mimi set off on her journey. She climbed the tallest trees, leaped from branch to branch, and finally reached a clearing where a group of rabbits were trapped by a cunning fox.
The fox, with a twinkle in his eye, had built a cunning trap to catch the rabbits. But Mimi, with her monkey wisdom, had a plan. She called out to the rabbits, “Don’t worry, I’ll save you all!”
With a swift move, Mimi climbed the tree where the fox was hiding. She used her long tail to swing from branch to branch until she was right in front of the fox. “You can’t catch us, you mean fox!” she chanted.
The fox was surprised and, realizing he couldn’t outsmart the clever monkey, decided to give up. He sneaked away, and the rabbits were freed.
The rabbits thanked Mimi for her bravery and quick thinking. From that day on, Mimi was the most beloved monkey in the forest, and her story of courage was told and retold by all the animals.
And so, Mimi lived happily ever after, always ready to help her friends in need.
The end.
