The Little Engine That Could

Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by mountains, there was a tiny steam engine named Henry. Henry was not the strongest or the fastest engine on the railroad, but he had a big dream: to pull the longest and heaviest train to the top of the highest mountain.

One day, the railroad manager called for all the engines to gather. He announced that they needed someone to pull a train loaded with coal and supplies to the mountain town. The other engines laughed and pointed at Henry, thinking he was too small for the job.

But Henry was determined. He said, “I think I can. I think I can.” With a spark of determination in his eyes, Henry started the journey. The train was heavy, and the climb was steep. Henry struggled with every inch of the way, but he kept repeating his mantra, “I think I can.”

As he neared the summit, the climb became even more difficult. The other engines, seeing Henry’s struggle, offered to help. But Henry refused. “No, thank you,” he said. “I want to do this on my own. I think I can.”

Finally, Henry reached the top of the mountain. The other engines cheered, and the villagers came out to see the little engine that had made it. Henry had done it! He had pulled the train to the top of the highest mountain, proving that size and strength were not the only qualities needed to succeed.

From that day on, Henry was known as “The Little Engine That Could.” His story inspired others to believe in themselves and to never give up, no matter how big the challenge might seem.
