One sunny morning, Ms. Frizzle’s class was on a field trip. They were going to visit the museum, but Ms. Frizzle had a surprise for them. She took them to a magic door in the back of the classroom.
“Today, we’re going on a special trip,” Ms. Frizzle said. “We’re going to explore the Earth!”
The students were excited. They climbed into the magic school bus and Ms. Frizzle pressed a button. The bus shrank down to the size of a mouse and they were off!
They went through the ground and into the soil. The bus was moving through layers of rock and minerals. They saw crystals and fossils.
“Look at this,” said Kevin. “It’s a fossil of a trilobite!”
“Trilobites are ancient sea creatures,” said Ms. Frizzle. “They lived millions of years ago.”
The bus continued its journey. They went deeper and deeper into the Earth. They saw the layers of the crust, the mantle, and the core.
“Wow, look at the core,” said Keesha. “It’s so hot and it’s made of iron and nickel!”
The students learned a lot about the Earth’s structure and how it works. When they finally came back to the surface, they were tired but happy.
“Thank you, Ms. Frizzle,” said Carlos. “This was the best field trip ever!”
“Anytime,” said Ms. Frizzle with a smile.
